Awarding Competence Centre

We will advise you on all aspects of your procurement project.

The Vergabekompetenzcenter (Centre of Competence in Awarding, VKC) is at your disposal for initial information on contract awarding issues.

The VKC was set up in the Legal Department of the Federal Procurement Agency to provide optimum support for procurement processes. It serves as the first point of contact for public contracting authorities planning to award a contract.

In an initial meeting, our customer's requirements are determined and, if necessary, non-binding legal information is provided. Your request will be forwarded to the most suitable contact person: BBG or Finanzprokuratur (Lawyer and legal advisor of the Republic of Austria).

Legal Basis of the Centre of Competence in Awarding

The Centre of Competence in Awarding was established on the basis of the decision of the Council of Ministers of 9 March 2005 (MRV 85/15). Since then, it has been making use of the BBG's existing specialist staff when this is more economical than employing specialists in individual departments or calling in private experts.

The main users are federal agencies, outsourced federal institutions and other public (sector) clients in accordance with § 3 Para. 3 BBG Act (federal states, municipalities, and outsourced institutions of the same).
